Helping to empower you on your journey towards well-being and personal growth.
Hi, I'm Anna, a qualified counsellor, offering both short-term and long-term therapy in South West London and online counselling across the UK.
I also offer walk and talk therapy in South West London: Clapham, Battersea, Balham, Brixton, Streatham and Tooting Bec. Click here to find out more.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which means I follow their ethical guidelines about client safety, wellbeing and confidentiality. I am also fully insured and supervised and follow all current guidelines on managing data safely.
I have a background in marketing and understand the challenges that often arise from working in a demanding environment. I also have several years' experience of counselling vulnerable adults in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.
You may have heard counselling referred to as a ‘safe space’. But what does that mean? Simply put, it's a physical and mental space where you can be yourself without fear of being judged or rejected. It's a place where you can feel validated, supported and comfortable enough to show raw emotion, vulnerability, or explore the parts of yourself that you don’t like, or are ashamed of. That's what I can create for you.
As your counsellor, I'll support you in talking about the current challenges you are facing; together we might look back on your life to help identify patterns of behaviour that have developed over time and how they may be impacting your life now. I believe this journey of exploration and understanding to be at the heart of change.
Focusing on your autonomy, and self-awareness, my mission is to empower you to make informed choices towards a more content life.
If you have any questions about counselling, please take a look at these FAQs or contact me directly.
I use traditional counselling techniques and creative approaches to create a therapeutic experience that is unique to you.
The most important part of any therapy is the relationship between the client and the counsellor. That's why finding a therapist you feel comfortable with is so important.
To find out whether we'd be a good fit to work together and to discuss what you'd like to achieve through therapy, please book a free consultation call.

Counselling is a talking therapy. At its simplest level, it provides an opportunity to share difficult thoughts, feelings, hopes and fears with someone who is trained to listen, in a space that is safe, confidential and accepting.
Counselling is not a solution to all of life’s problems, nor is it for everyone. However, for many people, there is something profoundly therapeutic about the process of identifying and talking through your issues with professional guidance.
The first therapy session lasts 50 minutes, the same length as your future sessions; however, it will feel slightly different. It is an assessment session, during which I try to get to know you as much as possible. That means I will probably ask more questions than in future sessions, and we will probably jump from one topic to another, more so than in subsequent sessions.
We are aiming for breadth rather than depth in the first session.
This is totally up to you. Some clients achieve what they need after only a few sessions, while others want to continue working together for a lot longer.
I work in an open-ended way, which means that you can decide how long you want to work together. You are able to decide how long your therapy will last, and in return my aim is to make sure therapy continues for only as long as it is of benefit to you.
I know that the process of even searching for a counsellor can feel overwhelming; you’ve probably spent hours scrolling through Google and various directories before getting to this point.
The process of starting therapy with me is straightforward. Get in touch.
We'll then set up a time to chat on the phone. During our call, we'll discuss what you hope to achieve during therapy, and you can ask any questions you have about me, my approach, or therapy in general.
If you decide to move forward, we'll schedule our first session, and we'll take it from there.
Counselling is confidential, allowing you to talk about difficult feelings and topics in a way that is separate from the rest of your life. Because of this confidentiality, you will find that, as you get used to coming for therapy, you are freer to talk about whatever you wish to.
The exception to this confidentiality is if I become concerned about your safety, or that of any vulnerable person or child, or if there is a legal obligation for me to pass on information to the police or criminal justice system (for example due to specific types of illegal activity or a court case).
I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which means I follow their ethical guidelines about client safety, wellbeing and confidentiality.
I am also fully insured and supervised and follow all current guidelines on managing data safely. I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, registration number: C1512811.
